SAWS Medio Creek Expansion – San Antonio, TX (Started June ’07)

Scope Highlights:
- 150K cubic yards of on-site soils, 85K cubic yards of imported fill, 125K tons of imported flex base, all paving sections including asphalt, concrete, curb and sidewalk.
- 30’+ deep engineered-shored shaft
- 1500 linear feet of French Drain

Opportunities and Challenges:
This 15’-20’ deep excavation was performed and backfilled with spec material during one of this region’s rainiest seasons on record. Positive site drainage and a willingness to perform work during inclimate weather kept the site portion of this project on schedule. Persistence when dealing with a municipality owner was also required from our management team in the submittal and general paperwork aspect.
